All Dogs go to Heaven

We said goodbye to part of our family yesterday.
Max was a special dog that I will remember for his strength, agility, protection, and love.

He had a life where he encountered some unfortunate events which I believe led him down a road of pain and as Kennedy puts it he became "not nice". We did what was best for the safety of our family but it breaks my heart to see him go. Pets are an amazing gift that we are given in this world. They teach us more than we realize!

Kennedy is in the process of writing a letter to Jesus and telling him how she's sad. I told her He would love it!

As we embark on our trip up to DC today, we will remember all the joy and memories we shared. Max, you will always be loved! Thank you for the years of happiness you brought to our lives!

Oh Sam- I know you wrestled with this decision... and I know it is hard because a dog really truly becomes a part of your family!
That is really sweet of Miss K to write a letter.....
looking forward to seeing you all..
Love,
Megs

As soon as I read this title my heart sank...it sounds like this was the best decision for you family, but I can imagine it was in no way easy.

I hope the trip to DC is great and full of fun discoveries about your new home! Can't wait to hear about it! :)

What a hard choice to have to make. I'm so sorry, Sam! Kennedy writing her letter brings tears to my eyes! Such a sweet little girl!

I hope your DC trip is just what the doctor ordered to take your mind off of Max for a while...

Oh Sam! As you know we had to make the same decision. It is awful because your pet is like one of your children but you still have to protect your children from your pet. It is one of the most difficult decisions that Todd and I have ever made. I hope all of you heal from the loss. Take care!

Love,
Alison

Samantha, I am so sorry for loss. It was a very hard decision for you to make but you made the right one. I loved Max very much and its hard to know he is gone but again, you did the right thing. I know as I type this message to you that he is running around with Snuggles and Emma in heaven. I love you very much lil' sis and I will see you soon.

Love always,
Meaghan
