Nolan Ryan???

On Monday night, Nolan attended his very first baseball game! We joined Jared's office at the Washington Nationals vs. Phillies game and it proved to be a very memorable night!

After a series of "events", we ended up in front left field with pretty awesome seats. During the bottom of the second inning, a home run came bolting our way! With a leap, a jump, and a spilled beer, Jared CAUGHT THE BALL!!

We have ourselves asking if our little Nolan is a baseball hall of famer in the making!

DIY

I can't say I'm the craftiest gal around but lately I have had some ideas working up in this mind of mine!

First, I've been wanting to create my own wreath for some time. When I came across artificial oranges that were on clearance for 50 cents (yes 50 cents!!) my wreath came to life! Lets just say the hot glue gun and I had a killer time! It was fun to create something of my own and it's a great fall addition to our door. Here is a pic of the final product:

Secondly, since we've moved in to our new home, I've been trying to come up with inexpensive ways to add some pizzaz to our white walls. This is the project I will be taking under next week:

I LOVE IT! Our dining room will soon be adorned with this DIY chevron paintings.

Wish me luck :)

Apples & Puddles

Last weekend, the Anderson family joined us at
Butler's Orchard for an apple picking good time! The kids adored this new adventure packed with all you can eat apples, puddles, mud, and endless smiles!

The grounds were absolutely gorgeous!

A little love before we were off!

Landon spotted an apple as soon as we parked and this is what landed in his bag....

YUMO!!!

I smile for apples!!!

Miss K went a little apple crazy and before long she was hauling more than she could lift! Daddy demanded that she had to carry what she picked (I think the Anderson's may have questioned that one!)

The kids found a great mud puddle that kept them quite amused!!

Thanks for a great apple picking Sunday Anderson's! As always, it was great fun!!

Follow that Bus!

"All I really need to know... I learned in kindergarten. "~Robert Fulghum

Miss K woke up Tuesday morning in complete excitement!! She knew this was her day! A day of pure joy, a day of anticipation, and a day to shine.

As the bus pulled up, my heart started beating a mile a minute. Miss K's eyes lit up as my eyes began to cry. This was it! The moment we had all been waiting for!

One step...two step...three step...four!

As the bus drove away, I seriously contemplated following it! It was one of my hardest yet proudest moments as a mom. Miss K had a wonderful first day and to see her face when she got home was amazing!

off she goes...

For 5 years I have had Miss K by my side. She has taught me so much about being a mother...how to be patient, how to be silly, and how to love unconditionally. She has grown into a girl that is passionate, caring, strong, and amazingly loving. I am SO proud of who she is and who she will become! While I would love to hold on to her forever, I know that it's time for her to experience new adventures in life.

Tomorrow will be bittersweet...
a day that I will never forget...
a day that tears will be FLOWING...
and yet my heart will be leaping in excitement...
a day that Miss K has looked forward too for months...
Tomorrow is the day we send her off.
Off into the world of KindergarteN!

As you embark on a your new journey tomorrow, may you know how much your loved, may you continue to seek God in your life, and may you continue to grow beautifully in your mind, body, and soul!

Oh and one more thing...please don't grow up too quickly!!!
