6 Days and Some Change

It's here...
I can feel it...
I can see it...
I can almost touch it...

This past Saturday, the wives of VP-5 got together and put up the outside decorations for our sailors homecoming. This made everything feel SO real! I've waited for this day for 6 months and it's finally in front of me. Last night I dreamt that Jared was right beside me. It was the most beautiful sight! Gosh, this is so hard to put into words but I'M SOOOO EXCITED!!! I cry at just the thought of seeing his face, holding his hand, and being along side my best friend. How sweet it will be to have our family as one!

Miss K and I spent the morning just the two of us. It's amazing having that time with her. She documented our day with one of her true loves ~ the camera! I love her ability to capture realness and life as it happens. All pics are Miss K exclusives minus the two of her.

See you in 6 days and some change sweetie!

LOVE YOU!!!!

Happy Birthday Mr. Moo!

Two years ago, my heart melted when I saw your face for the very first time!

You are MY son
The one with the most precious dimples
The one with the most glorious blue eyes
The one that showers me in love each and every day

You've taught me how to be still, how to live each day as gift, how to remain faithful in all circumstances.

I love you my Landon
You are my precious gift!

Birthday Boy

His most favorite breakfast - bananas and pancakes

YUMO!!!

Unwrapping some gifts from Zoomer!
(he LOVES the train set Zoom - your awesome!)

A piano for my little musician! Daddy also sent some amazing gifts which included a wooden clacker that Landon absolutely adores!

Miss K was quite the big sis today. She wrapped Landon two presents and gave him a lot of extra love. She was estatic that mommy had a special cupcake just for her; however, she did inform me that she needs 4 cupcakes on her birthday because "MOM I'M TURNING FOUR!"

Happy Birthday my sweet boy!

Rain Rain Go Away!

Sunny Florida decided to play a really bad joke this past week! It decided not to show its true colors and instead disguise itself as a HUGE MONSOON!

My sister Nicole was due in on Monday (although I made a big oops and showed up to the airport on Sunday) and us Floridans were ready to show her the best of Jax. Mother Nature was not on our side and decided to give us a taste of straight rain for 4 days. 4 DAYS STRAIGHT! No break. Just rain, wind, and clouds! As you can probably guess, Debbie Downer made her appearance!

My sis is awesome! She made me feel like it was no biggie. I love her amazing attitude! It made me realize that just being in the moment, enjoying the company, sharing new memories, and most of just being together was what it was all about. So true!

Thank you for sharing this past week with us Nicole. You are a beautiful sis inside and out! Miss K and Mr Landon loved and devoured the time with you!

Ahoy Maties!

All is fare...All is go...All is FUN on Fun Fridays!

We've really been having a blast with this once a week "go with the flow" day. This means the crazy healthy Sam was out and the let the kids be kids was in. Chick-Fil-A was having a special Pirates and Princess night and I just knew this was a P-E-R-F-E-C-T way to celebrate our day! It just so happens that this is the theme I choose for Kennedy and Landon's dual birthday party this June...like I said perfect! To get in the spirit, the kids dressed in costume. Although the princess gear comes easy in the Kennedy wardrobe, it proved to be a tricky task for our little buccaneer Landon. What's a girl to do you ask? Grab Kennedy's hair band, use it as a belt. Rummage through last years clothes, grab a striped onesie. Pick out a pair of pants that actually fit around Mr. Landon and magically you have a perfect Pirate!

Princess K and Pirate Landon...

ready for a day o' fun...

with a lick...

and a smile...

and a belly full of grub...

our Pirate...

and Princess set sail into a beautiful Fun Friday!

No Ordinary Banana

My fairy princess came today...
Blue eyed, full of smiles, and ready to grant me a Mother's day wish...

And with a stroke of her wand...

She made the most magical breakfast just for ME!

Thank you Miss K for filling my HEART with so much love!

Happy Mother's Day!

You were my strength when I was weak
You were my voice when I couldn't speak
You were my eyes when I couldnt see
You saw the best there was in me
Lifted me up when I couldnt reach
You gave me faith because you believed
Im everything I am Because you loved me

Mom ~ Mother's Day is always a beautiful reminder of the sacrifice, love, and strength you've shined upon me. You've been a mother who I could always turn too...a mother who always believed in me...a mother that loved me even in the worst of my days. I am in awe of all that you've become and forever blessed to call you MY mother.

love

Color

This past Sunday, after a OSC function, I was welcomed home with a screaming Kennedy and a mouth full of blood - YIKES! I definitely have a emotional, intense, sometimes sorta dramatic side to me; however, I knew SUPER MOM had to step in and be the strong calm one (or at least look like I was)! Miss K had a bit of a mishap literally minutes before I got home. Her creative mind decided to take our play shopping cart and turn it upside down and convert it into a stool. She lost her balance and fell backwards onto our wood floor. Her tooth made a 1 inch cut along her top lip and it was an awful site. I got the bleeding under control but knew that this size cut was worth going to the ER for. We dropped Landon off at our neighbors and headed to the hospital. Miss K was as calm as could be and actually welcomed the fact we were on our way to see the doctor. This was exactly what I needed in the moment...her calmness put such peace into a not so peaceful situation. She was my trooper through it all and came out with not one stitch! As we waited in the oh so fabulous ER waiting room, we decided some camera love was in order!

Your smile...

My smile...

Your eyes...

My eyes...

Your spunk colors my world!!!

FUN FRIDAYS

As Kennedy gets older (which is sooo hard to even say), I’ve realized that our once little girl deserves some big girl type of fun. We’ve stuck to the same schedule over the past four years - Dinner 6:00 Bath 6:30 Story 7:00 Hit The Sack 7:30. Although I’m a LOVER of schedules, there’s times when you have to detour. We’ve started a weekly tradition called “FUN FRIDAYS” - a day where anything goes! Schedules out and Fun in!

The morning started with blueberry pancakes, mango juice, and of course some mama love. After sneaking in a few errands, we headed to our front yard and let our imaginations run wild. They LOVED it! Water, free play, buckets, sun - what child wouldn’t be ecstatic! After a long day in the sun, we enjoyed a taco dinner (a Landon & Kennedy fav) and had an EXTRA special bath filled with lavender bubbles. With Landon in bed, Miss K and I had some mother and daughter time which was truly an order! She’s such an awesome little girl...filled with life, love, and laughter! As we sat there on the couch watching a movie, I reflected on who she’s become and how grateful I am to be her mother.

God is good!

GOT LOVE?

How sweet it is to be loved...

by you...

and you!!!

Here’s to Fun Fridays! A day where I can let my kids JUST BE kids!
